FAQS

We have prepared some common questions about preparing for eyelashes and nails, as well as the aftercare, for your convenience.

Eyelash Q&A

- Basic questions-

Q1. What is eyelash grafting/perming?

Eyelash grafting: Attaching artificial eyelashes to natural lashes in a 1-to-1 or 1-to-many method to achieve a visually dense eyelash effect. The weight of these grafted synthetic eyelashes is very light, so they are unlikely to burden the natural lashes!

Q2. What is eyelash lift?

Eyelash perming: The principle is similar to perming hair and is suitable for people with long natural eyelashes. It involves using silicone to adhere to the skin and set the curled eyelash perm.

Q3. What are individual eyelashes? What does 60/80/120pcs mean?

Classic individual eyelashes involve applying a single extension to each natural eyelash. It is sometimes referred to as "one-to-one" because it is one synthetic eyelash bonded to one real eyelash. The lash technician applies them one by one until the desired number of lashes, as chosen by the customer, is reached.

Q4. What are hybrid and volume lashes?

Volume lashes involve attaching two or more individual extensions to each natural eyelash. A cluster of lashes is picked up from the desired number of lashes (3D-12D), fanned out to form a "bouquet," and then glued onto a single natural eyelash using adhesive.

Q5. What is eyebrow lamination?

Eyebrow lamination is suitable for those who want to create upward, wild-looking brows but have thick, hard eyebrows that cannot be easily styled with ordinary products. It is also helpful for people who want to slightly improve a higher hairline or reduce the distance between their eyebrows and eyes. The procedure involves using plant-based keratin care products for styling and setting the eyebrows.

Q6. What is lash tint?

Lash tint is a cosmetic procedure that involves applying a semi-permanent dye to the eyelashes to darken and enhance their natural color. The process gives the appearance of longer, fuller, and more defined lashes without the need for mascara or other makeup products. Lash tinting is particularly popular among individuals with light-colored or sparse lashes, as it helps make their eyelashes more noticeable and creates a more dramatic look.

 - Experience -

Q7. Is the eyelash extension process painful?

Applying eyelash extensions involves individually gluing synthetic lashes onto your natural lashes without touching the eyelids or eyes. Only a very small number of people may experience a slight itching sensation or a feeling of fumes in the eyes, but it is not painful.

Q8. Can I apply eye makeup after eyelash extensions?

Absolutely, you can still apply eye makeup normally after getting eyelash extensions! However, there is no need to use mascara after eyelash extensions are applied.

Q9. How do I remove makeup and wash my face after getting eyelash extensions?

You can use makeup remover or cleansing gel, and use cotton pads and cotton swabs to assist with the makeup removal process. After that, you can wash your face as usual. Many people avoid touching their lashes to maintain their longevity, but this is incorrect. It is essential to keep the eyelids clean after getting eyelash extensions to prevent bacteria growth and conditions like red, swollen, and uncomfortable eyelids!

For the correct eye-washing method, we recommend using a lash mousse to create a dense foam, close your eyes, and apply it to your lashes. Wait for a while as you clean the rest of your face, and then rinse everything off together with water. (If the water pressure from the showerhead is too strong, try to avoid directly spraying your eyes. When synthetic lashes come into contact with water, they may stick together. In this case, gently press dry with a tissue or towel, and then use an eyelash brush to comb them neatly. There is no need to use a hairdryer to dry them, as too much heat can cause the synthetic lashes to fall off.)

Q10. Can I wear contact lenses during the eyelash extension process?

Hard contact lenses should be removed, while soft contact lenses can be worn depending on the customer's eye condition. Since the eyelash extension process requires you to keep your eyes closed throughout, it is recommended to remove the lenses if you are prone to allergies or have dry eyes, to prevent any discomfort.

Q11. Should I wear contact lenses or regular glasses after getting eyelash extensions?

Both are fine! If you are used to wearing regular glasses, you can inform the lash technician in advance. The technician will determine the appropriate length of the lashes based on the distance between your glasses' lenses to ensure the most comfortable fit. This way, you can comfortably wear glasses while still having stunning eyes.

Q12. How do I remove contact lenses after getting eyelash extensions?

You can remove contact lenses the same way you usually do! Try not to pull or press on the synthetic lashes, as this may cause them to become tangled. If you use eye drops or artificial tears and they come into contact with the synthetic lashes, make sure to quickly pat them dry with a tissue to prevent the moisture from lingering too long and causing the synthetic lashes to fall off.

 - Injury concerns -

Q13. Will eyelash extensions damage my natural lashes?

When artificial lashes are grafted onto the base of your natural lashes, it is important to ensure they are not too heavy. This will prevent your natural lashes from breaking due to excessive weight. During the application process, a safe distance is maintained to avoid irritating the hair follicles, causing sensitivity, or hindering lash growth. A professional lash technician will make sure the lashes are applied individually, so they won't affect the growth of your natural lashes!

Q14. After getting eyelash extensions, why do my lashes seem to be fewer, and why do synthetic lashes fall out with my natural lashes?

In fact, before getting eyelash extensions, your natural lashes may already fall out during face washing, makeup removal, or rubbing your eyes. However, since they are very thin and fine, you usually don't notice it. After getting eyelash extensions, the synthetic lashes are thicker and darker, making it more noticeable when they fall out. So, it's not that your natural lashes start falling out after getting extensions; it's just that the synthetic lashes fall out along with your natural lashes that were already close to shedding.

Like hair, eyelashes also have a growth cycle, which consists of a growth phase, a transitional phase, and a resting phase. This cycle repeats itself, but the difference is that the hair growth cycle can last 2-6 years, while the eyelash growth cycle is only 3-4 months. This is why eyelashes don't grow very long.

Lastly, avoid pulling or tugging on your lashes, as this may cause non-cyclical hair shedding and loss.

Q15. Will I experience eye irritation during the eyelash extension process?

During the eyelash extension process, the glue used can emit a pungent and irritating odor when it comes into contact with substances in the air. However, as long as you keep your eyes closed throughout the entire process, you should not experience any eye irritation.

Q16. Can I remove the eyelash extensions by myself after getting them done?

Besides natural shedding, if you want to remove the eyelash extensions, it's essential to return to the salon and have a professional eyelash technician remove them. This is because a specialized removal cream is needed to ensure that your natural lashes do not bear any burden. On the other hand, if you try to remove the extensions yourself (by pulling them out), you may apply too much force, which could potentially result in your natural lashes not growing back properly.

- Daily Maintenance and Touch-ups -

Q17. How long can eyelash extensions usually last after one application?

Eyelash extension-specific glue can last for 3-4 weeks. However, each person's daily maintenance and makeup removal methods may affect the durability of the eyelashes, and the more lashes grafted, the longer they can be maintained.

Q18. How often should eyelash extensions be refilled?

Our salon recommends a refill within 2-3 weeks, or when about 1/3 of the eyelashes have fallen off. However, it is not always possible to keep refilling indefinitely, as the grafted old and new eyelashes may not have consistent retention times. Sometimes, you may notice that the refilled eyelashes fall off more quickly, which could be due to the old eyelashes being close to falling off as well. Therefore, after 1-2 refills, it is usually recommended to remove all the eyelashes and reapply them.

Q19. What should I do if the grafted eyelashes become messy?

You can gently comb the eyelashes in the direction of their growth using an eyelash comb. Typically, after a night's sleep and tossing and turning, the grafted eyelashes may become disordered. At this point, you can use a toothed eyelash comb to comb the lashes in one direction, helping them return to their original neat appearance. Additionally, an eyelash "raincoat" (a clear eyelash topcoat) can be a useful tool to help maintain the shape and longevity of the grafted eyelashes.

Q20. How to maintain grafted eyelashes?

To maintain the longevity of grafted eyelashes, they need regular cleaning. If you don't take care of your eyelashes, their neatness can be affected. Here are some maintenance tips:

· Within the first 24 hours after grafting eyelashes, avoid contact with water, as the glue may not have completely dried. This will help maintain the longevity of the lashes. After that, water contact is fine (but avoid frequent hot water exposure, as it may cause the lashes to lose their curl).

· Avoid high-temperature, humid environments for the first 3 days, such as facial treatments, steam rooms, or hot springs.

· After grafting eyelashes, avoid rubbing your eyes, using eyelash curlers, or applying mascara.

· As natural eyelashes continue to grow, the grafted eyelashes may become unstable and disordered. Do not remove the synthetic eyelashes by yourself to avoid damaging your natural lashes. Use an eyelash brush to tidy them up.

· For makeup removal, use makeup remover water instead of oil-based products. For hard-to-clean areas near the lash line, use a dedicated cleaning cotton swab.

· Use an oil-free cleansing mousse to wash your face. Apply the foam over the synthetic eyelashes but avoid rubbing them.

· After washing your face, tearing up, or swimming, use a tissue to gently press and absorb the water on the eyelashes, then use an eyelash brush to comb them neatly.

· The grafted eyelashes are 1-1.5mm away from the eyelid and won't touch the skin. However, you still need to clean the dust and eye discharge around your eyes to prevent eye infections.

- Special eye type-

Q21. Can monolids get eyelash extensions?

Of course! Eyelash extensions can be applied to both monolids and double eyelids. However, if you have eye diseases or are prone to eye allergies or sensitivity, it is recommended to assess your eye condition before getting eyelash extensions.

Q22. Will monolids become double eyelids after getting eyelash extensions?

Thin monolids can be lifted up by the thick eyelash extensions to create the appearance of double eyelids. However, this effect is temporary and will only last as long as the extensions are in place. Once the extensions fall off, the eyes will return to their original monolid appearance.

Q23. Can eyelash extensions improve eyelash inversion?

Eyelash extensions can only adjust the angle of the inverted eyelashes to some extent, but cannot completely cure it. If the eyelash inversion is severe, it is still necessary to seek help from a physician.

-Eyelash preferences-

Q24. How to choose the length and curl of eyelashes?

We will evaluate the eye shape to determine the appropriate style, and then recommend the length, curl, and density adjustment based on each person's needs.

Q25. How to choose the eyelash style?

For a natural look that closely matches your own natural eyelashes, you can choose the classic style. For a clear, mascara-like effect with distinct individual lashes, you can choose the wispy hybrid style. For a look that appears to have eyeliner, enlarges the eyes, or elongates the eye shape, you can choose the volume style. The density of any style can be adjusted based on the number of lashes.

Q26. Is it better to have more eyelash extensions for a better look?

The density is mainly determined by the client's preferences, dressing style, profession, whether they usually go makeup-free or wear makeup, and other factors. However, a certain density is required to achieve the desired eye shape adjustment.

Q27. How to test for allergies to the eyelash extension glue?

If you have never had eyelash extensions before, you need to confirm whether you have any allergy history. If so, for your first eyelash extension, you need to undergo an allergy test. Please arrive 15 minutes early to the store for the test.

Test Method:

The eyelash artist will use tweezers to pick up one eyelash and apply glue to it, then attach the eyelash to the outer corner of the eye first. After waiting for 5-10 minutes, if there are no symptoms of redness, swelling, itching, or any discomfort, we can start the grafting process. If the eyes become red, swollen, painful, or itchy, it is recommended to use hypoallergenic glue for grafting or not to graft eyelashes at all. Therefore, it is essential to understand the individual's physical condition and inform the eyelash artist before grafting to make the correct judgment.

Nails Q&A

-Common Question-

Q1: What kind of people is Press on NAILS suitable for?

1. Those who don't have time for regular manicures but need to attend social events occasionally.

2. People in certain professions such as teachers, doctors, and food-related industries.

3. Those who like to change their nail designs frequently or have damaged nails.

4. Those who want to try having long nails or feel that regular manicures are relatively expensive.

Q2: Will Press on NAILS prevent my nails from "breathing"?

Nails themselves don't actually "breathe", but the nail plate and nail bed need oxygen, vitamins, and minerals to stay healthy. Frequent nail polish application is detrimental to nail health, but when wearing Press on NAILS, air can still reach the nails, reducing the damage.

Q3: Why do my Press on NAILS keep coming off?

Press on NAILS are convenient, but improper application can compromise the results, like the edges lifting, not adhering well, or forming bubbles. Proper Press on NAILS application following the correct steps is key to achieving a smooth and long-lasting finish.

(Tips: It's normal for gel nails to look dirty after a while. You can use alcohol wipes to clean the nail surface and restore the shine.)

Q4: What do the numbers on the nail tips mean?

They are used to differentiate the front and back, and the directionality. The numbered side is the inner side, i.e. the tip end. The numbers also indicate the size, so you can match the nails to your nail size.

Q5: Can I freely trim Press on NAILS?

If you forcibly cut or trim hand-applied Press on NAILS, it will damage the sealant layer and remove the colored gel, compromising the appearance and shortening the lifespan of the product.

Q6: Which is less damaging to nails - gel manicures or Press on NAILS tips?

Regular manicures with excessive buffing can make nails thin and brittle, and pregnant women shouldn't use them. With gel nail tips, as long as you find a well-fitting shape you like and use high-quality gel, proper application and removal won't damage your natural nails.

Q7: Why do my nails still get damaged even with Press on NAILS?

Press on NAILS require high-quality gel and adhesives. If you remove them forcefully, it can still cause some nail damage. So be gentle when removing gel nails and follow the proper steps. Apply cuticle oil or hand cream after removal.

Q8: My Press on NAILS just won't stay on!

As long as you use Press on NAILS properly, they should last at least 2 hours without getting wet, through normal daily activities. Only extreme situations like manually peeling open tough shells would require removal of the Press on NAILS.

Precautions:

1. Avoid soaking in hot water for long periods

The gel adhesive loses its stickiness in hot water, causing the nails to lift off easily.

2. Don't pry open hard objects

Use a straw or fingertip to gently open pull tabs instead. Nail loss is minor, but you could hurt your nails.

3. Avoid direct contact with staining substances

Don't use your nails to peel shrimp or other foods that can stain the nail surface or leave odors. Wear gloves when enjoying such foods.

4. Minimize wiping the back of the nail tips with alcohol

You can use alcohol wipes to clean the front of the nails and remove oil or dirt. But wiping the back may cause chemical reactions that make the nails turn white.

5. Don't remove gel nails forcefully

The edges of gel nails are quite thin, so be gentle when removing them. Soak in warm water first, then use a small stick to carefully peel them off. Aggressive removal can damage both the nail tips and your natural nails.
